ALL GAMES PLAY AT THE SAME START AND FINISH TIME
Boys to start at 9:00am Saturday mornings (be at field 15 minutes early).
Girls to start at 10:00am Saturday mornings (be at the field 15 minutes early).
4 - ten minute quarters, 2 minutes between quarters and a 4 minute half time for oranges.
There is no use of hands at this level. Throw-ins are kick-ins. At every kick off or kick in we give that team at least 5 yards to get the ball in play.
Substitute as often as you wish, but only at a stoppage in play.
The score is never kept, participation and fun are what we encourage.
The coaches are on the field to encourage the players and assist with proper and sportsman like play.
Encourage a team cheer and shaking of hands upon completion of each game.
The fields will be marked for the games. They are roughly 20 yards by 30 yards.
The goal is 3 yards wide. The goal crease is 7 yards by 5 yards. The top of the goal is about 6 feet high.
REMEMBER: FUN FIRST, TEAM WORK AND SOCCER SECOND
U5/6 is the beginning frame work for soccer. We play a three (3) a side game with NO GOALIES.
The importance of this game is fun and nothing is more fun than scoring a goal.
. Players keep their jerseys, shorts & socks and get a ball at the end of the season (last game) (yes the same balls you will be using for practices).
5 Players must have shin pads (On & Under socks) to play
8. Earrings or any piercings are NOT allowed on the field. NO - taping of the ears is not allowed either. This is a safety concern for both the player with the piercing (having them tear out) and for other players (getting cut). At this age there are lots of tumbles and crashes that could cause harm if earrings aren't removed.
http://www.soccer-for-parents.com has quite a bit of information for those that are new to the game of soccer in general.
